Hi friends. Just a note to those of you in the Cape Cod Songwriters Retreat (CCSR) community to let you know that we're moving forward as planned.

Monday, February 28 - Friday, March 4, 2022

I drove to Provincetown this past Monday to visit the Lands End Inn in person…it wasn’t officially open (not unusual for winter weekdays) but Peter was just leaving and Rusty was there on the computer, and Stan and I had a long phone conversation as I sat in the parking lot before going inside.

I wanted to be sure he and Eva were comfortable with us coming in three weeks time and not succumb to “willing it so” out of any exhausted desire to just "get together" at any cost and at this point in time.

Stan said “go in and have a beer”, which I did, taking in the serenity of the Inn and feeling what it would be like to be there in 21 days. The house stereo played Paul Simon and Arlo Guthrie among others.
Was the Universe calling?

Stan and I both agree that the most important prerequisite for your attendance is a negative COVID test result (the PCR kind, not the home test) within 72 hours of Monday afternoon arrival AND your exercise of caution regarding social gatherings the Fri-Sat-Sun just prior to the retreat once that negative test result is achieved.

With that in mind, I can also tell you that there is a little wiggle room if any of you remain on the fence about attending. I've now got 4 spots open along with a vibrant group of respect-full and care-full folks headed our way, joining me, Sloan Wainwright, and Joe Crookston.

Course titles include
The Art of Songwriting • Polishing the Stone
Bring Us Your Song • Swimming in the River of Your Song
The Power of "I" - Writing in the First Person

This will be a different kind of retreat with the backdrop of our current world outside the windows and in our awarenesses, but the heart of it remains the same. More than ever.

Please feel free to get in touch if you're interested.

with gratitude
