David and his sister with the one and only Jimmy Durante
|
A respected and award-winning musician and songwriter, David has compellingly crossed over into the field of motivational speaking. The Midwest native was born to a show business family - his mother a big band singer, his father the Maitre D’ at the legendary Chez Paree cabaret in Chicago. Because child care was usually in short supply, a young David and his sister often spent evenings there at the club with dad Irving, rubbing elbows (ankles?) with the McGuire Sisters, Sophie Tucker, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Danny Kaye, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, Joey Bishop, Jimmy Durante and countless other showbiz giants of the day. Years (and a few piano lessons) later David picked up the guitar in high school as an attempt to overcome severe shyness. Now David finds himself in front of groups that range from 50 to 5,000, often praised for his inspiring, creative, and artistic approach to empowering audiences with information, motivation, and entertainment.
Using songs, stories, spontaneity, and interactivity (the intersection of team-building and new perspectives) in his playful-to-powerful presentations, David’s delivery is unassuming, non-pretentious, easily accessed, and uplifting. The widely traveled Wind River recording artist (9 CDS) brings a unique blend of music and message to your event, meeting, conference, training, or gathering.

WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY...
"David's songs open my mind, lift my spirits, tickle my funny bone, and my whole family sings them out loud at odd moments. Here's a man with a devoted following, yet to be discovered by the world at large. It's only a matter of time."
- Dan Millman, author, Way of the Peaceful Warrior
"Let's say you organize conferences and you wanted to create the perfect catalyst to be part of the program. You'd create a person who could move people, touch their hearts, and inspire their humanity. You'd also want someone who was funny and could make people laugh, and while you're at it, why not have this musician be a great singer and songwriter. Creating this
person would require a great deal of work, but fortunately, cosmic forces have already done the job. His name is David Roth."
- Robert Schwarz, PsyD, Director, Institute for Advanced Clinical
Training, PA
"Our first choice to keynote the 1994 Minnesota Peer Helpers Association conference for counselors, teachers, community leaders and social workers was David. Among the raves, several participants said it was one of the most powerful mornings of their lives. Plus, we didn't have to go after our
second choices - Hillary and Chelsea Clinton."
- Rob Kesselring, Conference Coordinator, MPHA
"The presentation you gave our staff succeeded in doing what no other staff event has ever done so well before: empowering individuals to fulfill our organizational mission of peace through cross-cultural learning...your songs, stories, humanity and presence made the occasion unforgettable...
- Beryl Levinger, President, AFS Intercultural Programs
"Your presentation set the stage for the most successful Institute in our six year history and we credit you for setting the tone..."
- Lisa Winters, Texas Foundation for the Improvement of Local Government
"Thank you for being such a big part of Mental Health Week. All those who attended the events (both young and old) were thoroughly delighted and couldn't have been any more appreciative..."
- Tom Jenks, Director, Grey Bruce Branch, Canadian Mental Health
Association
"People are still talking about David's incredible presentation on Save the Children Day here in Westport. The music was amazing enough, but his warm presence and sense of humor made the afternoon a lifetime memory."
- Phyllis Dobyns, Senior Vice-President, Save the Children, Westport, CT
"You are a gift..."
- Joyce Saltman, Director, SCSU, H.E.L.P Institute, New Haven, CT
